Instant Pot Shoyu Chicken
This is a great one to throw in 30min to an hour before dinner time. Quick and easy, I promise.
Ingredients:
Serves 4
2 packages (7oz) of chicken thighs (I like Costco’s organic chicken thighs).
*it’s ok if it’s frozen, just run some warm water to get it out of the package and add a little more time to your Instant pot.1 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup water
1 cup shoyu (soy sauce)
Directions:
Put your chicken into your instant pot. Dump your sugar, Worchestershire, ginger, garlic and cover with shoyu and water.
Put your lid on and set to chicken (or 20 min at high pressure). If your chicken is frozen adjust your time to 30 min.
That’s it. Seriously, stupid easy. Plan 45 min to an hour for it to be ready, the pot takes a bit to pressurize and repressurize. I’f you are in a rush you can vent the pot early and save about 10-15 minutes.
Complete the Meal
Serve with rice and a salad for a well rounded mean. My go to salad is the Dragon Breath Salad. Feel free to substitute any starch or green to you or your family’s liking.
